Training
I have arranged
two more child protection training sessions one on the 15th March and
one on the 14th June. Both start at 9am and finish at 1pm. All youth
and children's workers must have attended one of the past sessions or
one of these new ones. This includes all crèche & toddler
workers/helpers. Full details are on the web site training page or on
the church notice board.
CCPAS are also
coming to Norwich. David and Pauline Pearson (from the CCPAS video)
will be leading this training in person. For the ones who struggle to
make a Saturday morning here is a great chance to do the training on
two evenings during the week (Thursday 13th March & Friday 14th
March). This will be held at Mulbarton Middle School, The Common,
Mulbarton. This will be from 7.15pm to 9.30pm. Let me know (with a
£12.50 cheque to PCCA) and I will book us in as a group. If we
get 6 to go, we will each get £2 back. You know to show you how
good these evenings will be I am going as well. Here's a chance to
meet the real experts.
Training day
- June 21st, 9am to 3pm
A number have
asked for some training with children's work. Therefore I have
invited Mark Tomlinson of Primary Focus to join us for the Saturday
of June 21st and I have booked to the church lounge for the day.
While this day will be aimed more at children's workers, it will be
useful for youth workers too and parents or just interested people. I
will need to firm up the topics by Easter for Mark, but I am totally
open to what you wish us to cover. Please let me know.
Leaders meeting
Remember our youth
leaders meeting at Becky's on Wednesday 26th March at 8pm. The next
Sonrise meeting is on Sunday 16th March, 4pm, at Peter's. Sorry
I don't have CUTS dates yet. All this year dates are on the web site.
Norwich
YFC youth leaders breakfast
The next Youth
leader's breakfast at Trowse YMCA is on Saturday 9th November, 8.30am
to 10am. Can I encourage as many to attend this event (you can come
for 9am if you wish).
Also we have
"Face to Face" with Norwich YFC on Saturday 22nd March,
7.30 to 9pm, at St Andrews Parish Church, Eaton.
This new event is
an opportunity to find out more about what we do, to meet the team
and to pray for the work. |

Leaders Vacancies
Speak to me for
further details and job descriptions. All roles will be for a trial
period of 3 months and then reviewed yearly.
Required now:
I would like to
highlight the need for a main leader for Fridays and for more leaders
to help. Age is not an issue! We will need to review Friday nights in
the summer and whether change is required.
Child
Protection Policy
You will have
received you own copy of the child protection policy. This is a
living document and will be regularly updated. You will have also
received an application form to become an approved Meadow Way Chapel
youth and children's worker. All future youth and children's
activities will only be staffed by approved workers. So please return
the form to me as soon as possible. New helpers will have to fill in
the application form before they can help at any event. See the
policy for full details.
Currently we have
been advised only to obtain disclosure from the CRB for new workers
who have joined us within the year. Please still fill in the separate
disclosure form as some time in the future everyone will be obtaining
disclosure from the CRB in stages.
If you know of
anyone who I have missed please let me know.
U:Nite
The next event is
a concert with "World without End" at Proclaimers, Drayton.
This on March 29th, doors opening at 7.00pm ending at approx 10.30pm.
Tickets are £1.50.
Weekend away
The weekend went
well. So we are booking Letton Hall for next year. So put Feb 27th to
29th 2004 in your diary for our next weekend away at Letton Hall. I
am working on a small shortlist for speakers but I am always open to suggestions.
Prayer
Please remember
all the young people and children in Prayer.
